David Griffen Photography
South West Food and Lifestyle Photographer
David Griffen loves food almost as much as he loves photography. He is also pretty keen on a well appointed interior. He relocated from Australia to Cornwall eight years ago after completing an Associate Diploma of Commercial Photography in Adelaide, South Australia. Living with his young family in the South West, David is happy to be surrounded by the food of top class chefs, delicious local produce and a hunter gather lifestyle.
Offering a flexible and affordable approach to a broad range of assignments, David works on location using both available light and professional studio lighting. He regularly shoots for the top echelon of chefs in the region, including Nathan Outlaw, Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth, and Rick Stein's Seafood School to name but a few. Whilst specialising in restaurant and hotel photography across the South West UK, and lifestyle photography for hotels and tourism, David regularly ventures further afield and often shoots in London.
David Griffen has a large collection of beautiful props for food photography styling. He works closely with chefs and home economists to create beautiful imagery featured everywhere from websites and social media to magazines and iPad apps.
David actively engages with a steadily growing audience through various Social Media channels, and is a leading expert in the fields of 'photography for food blogs' and 'food photography for social media promotion'. Last year David was a featured speaker for Social Media week in London, and this year he will be presenting at Blogger Connect (Europe's largest Food Blogging conference) and again at Social Media Week.
David runs two food photography blogs, one about his love for Food Phototgraphy, and the other about Food Photography with a Mobile Phone. He can often be found in a commercial kitchen at the end of a photoshoot training the chefs on how and where to shoot their dishes for twitter.
Please feel free to phone David on 01208 269 813 and request a pricelist or further examples from his folio.
