David Griffen loves food almost as much as he loves photography. He is also pretty keen on a well appointed interior. He relocated from Australia to Cornwall eight years ago after completing an Associate Diploma of Commercial Photography in Adelaide, South Australia. Living with his young family in the South West, David is happy to be surrounded by the food of top class chefs, delicious local produce and a hunter gather lifestyle.
>Recently David shot and styled Michael Caines first cook book, Michael Caines at Home, and his personal project the New West Country Cook Book is selling like hot cakes: www.westcountrycookbook.co.uk
Located in North Cornwall, on the way to Padstow and Rock, just outside Wadebridge, the studio is custom built with a lovely kitchen and fully stocked with cooking equipment and utensils. David has a large collection of beautiful props for food photography styling. He works closely with chefs, home economists and stylists to create beautiful imagery featured everywhere from websites and social media to magazines, iPad apps and cook books.
David Griffen regularly shoots for the top echelon of chefs in the region, including Nathan Outlaw, Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth, and Rick Stein's Seafood School to name but a few. Whilst specialising in restaurant and hotel photography across the South West UK, and lifestyle photography for hotels and tourism, David regularly ventures further afield and often shoots in London.
David actively engages with a steadily growing audience through various Social Media channels, and is a leading expert in the fields of 'photography for food blogs' and 'food photography for social media promotion'. David has been a featured speaker for Social Media week and Food Blogger Connect (Europe's largest Food Blogging conference) and presented evenings at Google London, Restaurant Tom Aikens and Lima London.
